2010 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize Winner Announced

Harvey T. Strosberg, Q.C. and Irwin Law Inc. are please to announce that the winner of the 2010 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize for the best student essay on Class Actions in Canada is Christie Kneteman.

Ms. Kneteman recently received her J.D. from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto, where she focused her studies on environmental law and policy. Following graduation, she will be articling with Torys LLP, where she will be working predominately with the Climate Change and Emissions Trading practice group. This past December she was a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Delegation to the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen.

Her prize-winning paper, “Revitalizing Environmental Class Actions: Québécois Lessons for English Canada” will appear in Volume 6, Issue 2 of the Canadian Class Action Review. She will also receive a prize of $10, 000.
