The proportion of true positive results (both negative and positive) in the tested group, i.e., (true positives + true negatives) divided by total number of tests. A test may be sensitive and specific but still not accurate. Accuracy means how close the measurement is to a known value — think of a target with shots all around the bull’s-eye as accurate but not necessarily precise.
