The ratio of true positive assessments based on the number of positive assessments, i.e., if nine of ten positive assessments proved true, then it has a 0.9 or 90 percent sensitivity. This shows how effective a test is at detecting what it is supposed to, i.e., drug present. If a drug test has low sensitivity, then too many people who have drugs in their system are not identified as such.
