The verdict that a properly instructed jury, acting judicially, could not have rendered. This standard will be met in the case of a jury when the verdict cannot be supported on the evidence and also, in the case of a trial by judge alone, when the reasons are illogical or irrational even if the verdict could be supported on the evidence.
