Strictly, a decision rendered by a jury, as opposed to a decision rendered by a judge, which is a judgment: see, for example, section 676(1)(a), dealing with an appeal against “a judgment or verdict of acquittal.” The distinction is not always made in the Code: see, for example, section 672.27.
