Jenny P. Stephenson

Jenny P. Stephenson is a partner in McCarthy Tetrault’s litigation group in Toronto and a member of the firm’s biotechnology law group. Ms. Stephenson is a licensed physician and practiced briefly as a physician before returning to law school. Her present practice includes defence work for physicians in medical malpractice actions, in professional discipline matters, and in criminal matters. Her practice also includes employment and human rights litigation, and, in particular, civil and criminal cases involving claims of sexual harassment and sexual assault, as well as of sexual offences in a discipline context. Ms. Stephenson obtained her MD from the University of Western Ontario in 1981, and her LLB from the University of Toronto in 1986. She is a member of the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, the Medical Legal Society, and The Advocates’ Society. She is a member of the California bar and was called to the Ontario bar in 1988.
