Renée Fugère

Renée Fugère was certified in psychiatry in 1981, at McGill University. She did two years of forensic psychiatry training at McGill (1979–82). She is the past president of the Canadian Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (2007–08), the past chair of the Academies, and board member of the Canadian Psychiatric Association (2007–08). Her current position is psychiatrist-in-chief at Institut Philippe-Pinel. Dr. Fugere is the medical director of the Mental Health Unit for female offenders (federal jurisdiction), the senior associate at the McGill University Health Centre, an assistant professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Montreal, and an adjunct professor at McGill.
