Harvey T. Strosberg, Q.C. and Irwin Law Inc. are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2022 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize for the best student essay on class actions in Canada is Sidney Brejak.
Sidney is currently an articling student at the law firm Bennett Jones LLP in Toronto. He has a passion for litigation and hopes to build a broad litigation practice, including in the area of class actions. Sidney will receive a prize of $10,000 and his prize-winning paper, “The Precarious State of the Ragoonanan Principle in Ontario,” will appear in an upcoming issue of the Canadian Class Action Review. The bulk of this essay was written while Sidney was a 3L student at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law as a final paper for Professor Jasminka Kalajdzic’s Class Actions course.
