Harvey T. Strosberg, K.C. and Irwin Law Inc. are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2023 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize for the best student essay on class actions in Canada is Mary Ppasiou.
Mary Ppasiou is a PhD candidate at Western University. She completed her LLB at the University of Cyprus in 2020 and obtained an LLM from Western University in 2022. Her current research topic is the scope of contract law remedies for delay in construction and infrastructure projects in Canada. Mary will receive a prize of $10,000, and her prize-winning paper, “The (Un)Enforceability of Class Action Waivers in Canada,” will appear in an upcoming issue of the Canadian Class Action Review.
