Teresa Scassa is the Canada Research Chair in Information Law at the University of Ottawa, where she is also a Professor at the Faculty of Law (Common Law Section). She holds degrees in civil and common law from McGill University and an LLM and a doctoral degree in law from the University of Michigan. She is a co-founder and former co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Law and Technology, author of the book Canadian Trademark Law (LexisNexis, 2010) and co-author of Electronic Commerce and Internet Law in Canada, 2d ed (CCH Canadian Ltd, 2012). She is a member of the External Advisory Committee of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and of the Canadian Government Advisory Committee on Open Government. Dr. Scassa has written widely in the areas of intellectual property law, law and technology, and privacy. She is also the author or co-author of a number of articles on ambush marketing legislation.
